All 3 of our individually designed en-suite bedrooms are light and spacious with views of both the village and the fields and hills beyond. All have large, comfortable beds, fluffy towels, colour TV, radio/alarm clock, free Wifi, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries and a hospitality tray with a selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, wine glasses and a corkscrew. We provide quality, hypoallergenic duvets and pillows. We also have a library of magazines, books and local information for your enjoyment.
This room has a wrought iron king sized bed with pocket sprung mattress, and an en-suite shower room. It also has a day bed loaded with cushions to provide comfy seating for you to relax on, but which can also be used as a full sized single bed if you prefer a twin bedroom. This generously proportioned room with it’s fabulous stone fireplace offers views overlooking the village and up the Moor Road to Ellerkin Scar.

This south facing bedroom also offers a king-sized bed with pocket sprung mattress and a Day Bed, to relax on after long (or short!) walks. The day bed makes into a full sized single bed, so that we can provide you with double, or twin accommodation in this room, and it has an en-suite shower room. You can enjoy extensive views over part of the village towards Addlebrough in the distance.

Room 3 is another large king sized bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. The cool fresh colours offer a lovely peaceful and tranquil setting to relax in during your stay with us. This room is dual aspect. You can watch the sheep and the cows which provide your milk grazing in the fields towards Whitfield, and the stream making its way from Thornsgill down past the house. You can enjoy a cup of tea in bed whilst you soak up the view up Moor Road, towards Ellerkin Scar

Relax in the comfort of your own separate lounge (pictured above centre) with soft leather suite, piano, colour TV, radio, video, games, books, tapes and local information.
In the dining room you can enjoy a full choice of breakfasts, using local
produce wherever we can and our own home made preserves. Help yourself to
fruit and a full range of cereal, followed by our full Yorkshire Breakfast,
including our Vegetarian version. Or try our scrambled egg with smoked salmon
in a warm croissant, omelette, beans on toast or just a good old fashioned
bacon butty. All of these are served with bottomless tea and coffee, and toast
and homemade preserves if you have a corner left to fit them in!! We are very
happy to cater for vegetarians, vegans and people with other special dietary
needs.
We keep our food miles down as much as possible-for example our eggs and milk come from the farm next door, and our sausages come from the butcher in the next village.
We are happy to provide you with a packed lunch but please give us a bit of notice. Th cost is £6 per person and will typically include;
Evening Snacks are available on
request at a cost of £6 per person.
Should you require, we will happily provide you with a plate of sandwiches
with a variety of fillings, fresh fruit or cake and tea or coffee.

We will hold your reservation for seven days pending receipt of your written confirmation and £15 per person as deposit. The deposit is non refundable. Sorry - we do not accept credit/debit cards at the moment. We accept payment by cheque, payable to 'Wendy Turner' or 'Thornsgill House', sterling travellers' cheque, or cash.
